I figured fine that was okay but then when i started watching tv i realized the speakers are absolutely terrible. It is a cheap tv but let me remind you of the old saying what you pay is what you get.

Nice Picture, good sound, simple menu controls, etc. BUT with the Picture Size set to 'NORMAL' (i.e., the only format the set comes capable of receiving), the image is square, not rectangular. So I have the choices of viewing broadcasts in a stretched and distorted 'FULL' image, a top and bottom-cropped 'WIDE' image, or in this horizontally compressed 'NORMAL' image.
Is this typical of this model? If so, I want to return it asap.

No problem. | | | | | | We bought this TV from Wal-Mart to replace a small dinosaur set in the garage/shop (man room) in order to have everything ready for the dreaded digital switch and to have satellite service in place like the rest of the TVs in the house. We needed something small and didn't want to pay something outrageous due to the location. The TLA-01911C fit the bill exactly and is now connected to HI-DEF satellite reception in all it's glory so NASCAR will be supreme this season.
Half the problem in setting up a new TV is in learning how to do it and that's accomplished by actually reading the instruction booklet. The TV is appropriate in it's location and function and we're looking forward to enjoying making this purchase for a long time.
