| | | | Posted By Maria from Maine | | | | | | What a POS! The HP in 26HP must stand for Hampster Power because the net HP is terrible. Got it from Lowes. Right away, the clutch went out. Got that fixed, then we started discovering all of its deficiencies. We bought the tractor to mow about 4 acres of pasture and lawn and to drag the indoor horse riding arena to smooth out the bumps and ruts thinking 26 HP should be able to pull just about anything. It couldn't get any traction in the sand, so the back wheels just spun around. I deflated the tires and it BARELY pulls the drag. I modified the drag to make it easier on the tractor but it still wimps out miserably. We are VERY disappointed with this POS! I have never sworn so much at something in my life. Then we discovered that the cutting deck, even adjusted to the maximum height (underneath) and at the highest cutting height can't handle much in the way of uneven slopes. I can't tell you how many times I have to hop off and pull the damn thing out of something that my old 12 HP Bolens had no trouble going through. Some areas I can't get through and I have to hand mow them and we do NOT have unusual uneven turf. My Bolens had NO problem at all. The cutting height settings 1-5 are useless and we typically only use 6 or 7. Even at 7, it can't cut relatively high grass without leaving a trail behind that you have to go over again. Please don't consider buying this piece of junk!
