The only downfall is that you can't tivo something and simultaneously watch something else. I'm not that huge of a TV person so this doesn't bother me, but I think it might bother some people. You also need to have a working phone line for Tivo to connect and get the lineup of shows.

I don't watch many shows, but I don't like arranging my schedule around watching, so it is really helpful to record it and watch it when I have down time! What a great invention!
