Original Soundtrack - Moulin Rouge
As good as the movie was, the soundtrack was just as good. I bought it to listen to in the car. I liked the gravelly voiced version of Roxanne best of all. That and the playful Like A Virgin. |

Original Broadway Cast - Dreamgirls
My wife went to see this on Broadway a long time ago and loved it so I bought the original cast recording for her. Some really great songs here, but I can only take a few at a time. |

Moulin Rouge Soundtrack
I loved the movie and so bought the soundtrack. This is a wonderful CD and you can tell how good the songs were with this as you don't have all the brilliant things to look at now when you listen to it. |

Reservoir Dogs/Pulp Fiction
Very interesting as it shows Tarantino's progression from one movie to the next. Truthfully, I liked Reservoir Dogs better, but Pulp Fiction is a great movie also. The 20 page book is interesting, but a fluff. |

WAR OF THE WORLDS
Scary music from a really good movie. Nothing that you will really hum as you go about your day, but good enough to make you think of far away places. As always, John Williams does a great job with a movie score. |

DIRTY DANCING
The soundtrack to Dirty Dancing is awesome. Every song is great. I know the words to all of them and love to put the CD on a sing, sing, sing! |

Shallow Hal Soundtrack
I bought the soundtrack to Shallow Hal after watching the DVD. I love the music and listen to it all the time in my car. It makes all my trips, whether short or long more enjoyable. |

Jaws
Steven Spielberg's horror film about a shark that attacks humans. Great suspense and nice shots of the shark although in some scenes one could make out a fake shark.
Decent screenplay. The movie was such a success that two sequels were made afterwards. I recommend it. |

The Thomas Crown Affair
Very good gentleman thief thriller. Pierce Brosnan is probably the only actor that deserves the lead role.
The British man's charming and mysterious smile demonstrates wit and danger. The film has multiple twists and features many interesting tricks performed by the thief.
Worth it! |

The Wedding Singer
For some reason Sandler always seems to be playing the underdog that eventually defeats the competition. This early comedy of Sandler's was no exception. Drew Barrymore delivers a convincing role of a sweet and innocent waitress who befriends a colleague wedding singer. The singer eventually discovers infidelity of the waitress' fiancee; the duo breaks up and guess whose arms the waitress falls into? You got it, the underdog.
Predictable and straightforward plot. The movie was without a single twist. Acting was decent. Supposedly a classic. |

Fantasia [Remaster]
A number of hilarious animated stories unfold at the company of world-renowned classical music. Education and entertaining for all ages. Disney's works are pure genius. This movie is obviously different from The Lion King and Pocahontas due to its unique content. Worth watching for sure. |

Eurotrip
At first I thought this was going to be a "Roadtrip" except everything happens in Europe.
However the movie lacks a central theme unlike "Roadtrip" where the audience is informed from the beginning that the mission of the protaganist is to retrieve a video tape all the way down south, hence the trip.
This movie is a mere amalgamation of all the elements in a teen comedy, such as sexual materials and outrageously fun and dangerous feats.
No decent plotline connects these elements together well like "Roadtrip."

CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE
Jet Li's yet another adventure involving a black gang. DMX and Gabrielle Union star as well.
Extremely fierce and sometimes even cruel fighting.
Too much focus on the gang and not enough focus on Jet Li for me.
Romeo must Die is a better film for the similar story. |

Wild Things
Erotic thriller with abundant sex scenes and some violence. The movie is really slow at first but then picks up pace in the middle.
There are many mysteries in the movie; each one of them is unraveled slowly towards the end when the characters start dying one after another.
This is good for first-time viewing; not so much for repeats. |

Shakespeare In Love
Great movie with funny elements.
The movie managed to incorporate more than 6 plays by Shakespeare into the same movie.
The script was well written. Both actors for Shakespeare and his lover were well chosen (as if they were Romeo and Juliet).
I saw it for my high school Shakespeare class. Well worth it. |

Save The Last Dance
A story about a Caucasian ballet dancer wannabe finding herself in the middle of an inner city area inhabited by mostly African Americans.
The dancer befriends and eventually falls in love with a black student who teaches her lessons from his lifestyle as well helps her add hip-hops moves to her dance style.
The movie sheds some light on the life of inner city teens and teen interracial relationships.

Original Cast Recording - Billy Elliot The Musical [PA]
It's no wonder that "Billy Elliott: The Musical" is the biggest smash hit playing in London and has won all of the season's top awards. 'Billy Elliot' has to be one of the best if not the best cast recording in many years and no praise from me can do full justice to the brilliance of this enthralling CD. |

Original Soundtrack - Tarzan The Broadway Musical
I'm hoping that someday there will be a touring company of Tarzan that will be coming to Chicago, so I wanted to have the Broadway cast recording so that I would know the songs that were added to the Broadway show to help expand the animated film. |

Original Broadway Recording - The Wedding Singer [6/6]
It's a catchy pop-style score full of infectious rhythms and pretty melodies with a sweet yet vulgar sensibility behind it. The individual voices of the performers are spotlighted more on the CD. Ms. Benanti comes across much better on the recording than she does on the stage. |

Original Soundtrack - Spring Awakening
I saw this on Broadway without having heard this recording. In this particular case I'm glad I didn't as my experience of total shock and surprise and wonderment may somehow have been diminished. This is quality rock and roll - the high energy numbers are terrific. |
