Best of Gershwin
I picked up a CD with best of Gershwin, and all I can say is that he has some excellent music. I'm not sure what's on this one, but definitely take a look at Rhapsody in Blue, and his concerto in F. They are both amazing songs, among his other brilliant pieces. |

Chopin - The Legendary 1965 Recording / Martha Argerich
This is a great recording. Argerich plays Chopin in a strong, fresh and powerful way. For me the highlights on this disc are without doubt the mazurkas. The mazurkas alone are absolutely reason enough to buy this disc right away. |

Herrmann: The Film Scores - Vertigo, Psycho, etc / Salonen
I consider this to be the best and most thorough collection of Bernard Herrmann's film scores. They range from his earliest compositions to his very last works, and it is a fine representation of his diversity and originality as a musical composer. |

Byrd: Mass for 5 Voices, etc / Christophers, The Sixteen
This is a splendid work of musical brilliance from William Byrd, arguably the most influential religious composer of his era. It includes Mass for Five Voices, but more importantly it has Christophers, the Sixteen, which is my personal favorite. |

Bryars: Jesus` Blood never failed me yet / Tom Waits, et al
This is a strange album that is mostly one song played over and over again, with different layers added each time. It creates a very hypnotic stream of music that gets even better when musician Tom Waits adds vocals to the last few tracks. |
