Sortprice Data Reveals that Electronics Still a Top Choice for Most Holiday Shoppers

NEW YORK, NY - Despite the lagging economy and a consumer emphasis on frugality this holiday season, electronics and big ticket items have been dominating shoppers' online searches in the days following Thanksgiving, according to data released today by Sortprice.com.
"Consumers are being more careful and thorough with their overall shopping habits thus far, but it appears they're continuing to target the same items - digital cameras, flat screen TVs, MP3 players, video game consoles - as in previous years," said Doron Simovitch, Sortprice.com co-founder and CEO.
Sortprice had a 32 percent increase in traffic on Cyber Monday 2008 over last year, indicating many shoppers continue to turn to the internet looking for bargains. As a gauge of consumer trends, the company has compiled data on all searches on the site between Black Friday and Tuesday, December 10 to determine which products and categories are the most popular in 2008:
