Hollywood Blockbusters & Traditional Favorites Dominate SortPrice.com’s Annual Top 10 Halloween Costume Lists for 2011

NEW YORK, NY – Consumers in 2011 are overwhelmingly targeting costume themes from some of the year’s biggest movies, as well as considering traditional Halloween classics, according to shopping search engine SortPrice.com’s annual list of the most popular Halloween costumes released today.

Characters from blockbusters such as Tron Legacy, Green Lantern, the Smurfs, Captain America and the final installment of the Harry Potter series have been some of the most sought-after costumes in both the adult and children’s categories this year. Additionally, demand for traditional costumes has put at least a small dent in the popularity of ‘sexy’ themed costumes that have dominated SortPrice’s list in years past.

SortPrice, which regularly provides such lists during major shopping holidays and seasons, closely monitored site traffic and user searches beginning in early September to compile the year’s top ten lists for both kids’ and adults’ costumes.
